Championship Info

At the 2010 USATF Annual Meeting in Virginia Beach, VA, the Associations Committee announced a "region re-alignment" of the zone representatives. The alignment added three (3) additional regions for the purpose of allowing representatives better ability to contact each association within their region, to aid in the accreditation process with respect to bylaws and/or to develop an action plan for improvement. This change aligned regions with current USATF masters regions.

This message is sent is to inform you that the Southern Region was split into two regions.

The Southeast Region now encompasses Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.
The Southwest Region is now Arkansas, Border, Gulf, Oklahoma, South Texas, Southern, Southwestern, and West Texas.

After a review of candidates and their credentials, the USATF Association Committee has appointed me - Marlene Atwood - as Southeast Regional Representative and Jackie Callender as Southwest Regional Representative.

My goal in assuming this position is to

Open and improve communications from the National Office to the Associations in the Southeast Region
Open communications and knowledge sharing among Associations in the Southeast Region
To ensure that all Associations in the Southeast Region have full accreditation credentials going into the USATF Annual Meeting
To conduct a productive regional meeting at the Association Workshop and Annual Meeting.
To become a valuable resource for these associations - in opening doors, discovering opportunities, and ensuring growth.
To assist with any issues that arise within these Associations, and help them work toward resolution.

The Association Committee expressed confidence in my ability and background in selecting me to this position. I hope that you share in my enthusiasm as I assume this role.
